Vejbystrand Konsult AB was founded by Anders Karlsson, whose background is unusual in the hotel industry: eleven years as a hotel owner and nine years on the manufacturing side of hotel locks. That combination — having stood on both sides of the same technology — is the foundation of how we work.

Vejby Strand Hotel, 2013–2024. Anders founded Vejby Strand Hotel and was in operational charge of it for eleven years, and still owns half of the company. He personally designed and implemented the integration between the hotel's property management system and Expedia's booking platform, including support for automated revenue management.

ASSA ABLOY Hospitality, 2015–2024. In parallel, Anders worked as a firmware engineer at ASSA ABLOY Hospitality for just over nine years, with RFID, BLE, Zigbee and 16-bit embedded systems for the hotel industry — developing and troubleshooting the kind of lock technology installed in hotels around the world. Among other things, the work resulted in a patent in locking solutions.

Lund University's Faculty of Engineering (LTH). MSc in Computer Science and Engineering, specialising in embedded systems, 1993–1998. In total more than 25 years of experience in embedded systems development, including a background in the automotive industry.

That background is why Vejbystrand Konsult AB can do what most hotel consultants cannot: assess a lock system or a technology integration based on how it actually works at a hotel reception desk — and on how it is built on the inside.
